Shakti Soul Yoga Collective 200 hour teacher training is an incredibly immersive and well-rounded program. Owner and instructor, Selby Pena, not only offers a beautiful outdoor shala space for her school but she has the best energy and is so supportive of her students. The education we received went well above just learning learning asanas. We learned so much about the history of yoga, the diverse practices and spiritual legacies, anatomy and everything that is embodied by the 8 limbs of yoga. And most importantly, the very important emphasis on proper alignment. With proper alignment we keep our students safe and we are able to keep yoga accessible to everyone through the ages. Shakti Soul is truly something special.

I’ve been going to Selby since March of 2013, and have had her facials once a month. Who says that self care is not an essential? Selby has become more than just my facialist, but also a life coach and an amazing woman of all traits that I’ve learned about over the years. She’s become one of my inspirations in life! Hands down best facial I've ever had. I used to get them often and stopped because I just never really loved the products or saw results even if the experience was nice. I started coming to Selby shortly before my wedding looking to get a pick me up on my skin for my big day. I love the new location! Easy access to parking in the free parking garage just across the street, and Selby is always so lovely and personable. The shop is stocked with great merchandise - unique pieces you won't find anywhere else downtown (or in all of Ventura!). I can only speak to her facials, but they are kind of glorious. Selby is my Girl for brows and facials. She just gets it when it comes to shaping and coloring my brows. In one visit, my face goes through a transformation. As a longterm sufferer adult hormonal acne and another inflammatory skin condition, I was very nervous about getting a facial. Selby's space is beautiful, light and calming and she is simply a delight. Right away, I felt more comfortable. I went knowing that her products were Epicuren, and that they would be perfect for my super sensitive skin. Love, love, love what Selby has to offer. I've been getting microcurrent & LED facials for a few years now. The microcurrent has done wonders for my elasticity, complexion and improved the overall health of my skin. One of the places I notice the most improvement is what was once saggy & loose skin under my chin. After a few months of microcurrent, it is noticeably much more firm. The microcurrent creates somewhat of a workout for your facial muscle to tone and create some muscle memory from what I understand. It also improves overall circulation. I also do microcurrent stomach treatments which helps keep things firm, fit and complements my work on core strength.
